   Individuals who receive financial assistance from Canadian HERO are almost always happy to have us to tell our volunteers and supporters who they are and what we did to help them. Sometimes however, that is not the case and we can only tell our volunteers and supporters that we helped somebody who wishes to remain anonymous. Canadian HERO respects the privacy of others and only uses the names, pictures and personal information of others with the prior written consent of the individuals involved. 

   One person that wishes to remain anonymous, received the financial assistance he needed, from Canadian HERO, to have his myoelectric arm and hand repaired by Bloorview Kids Rehab. Born on December 15th of 1974, this recipient badly needed repairs done to the hand mechanism of his myoelectric arm, needed to have the electrical contacts from the battery to the hand mechanism replaced and also needed the internal battery of the device replaced. Unfortunately he did not qualify for any funding for this work and he was unable to afford the needed repairs without help. That is when Canadian HERO stepped into the picture.

   Canadian HERO is working hard to make sure that people in need stop falling through the cracks. The estimate from the Bloorview Kids Rehab centre totaled $882.22 for all the work the needed to repair the myoelectric arm. Canadian HERO agreed to cover the entire amount and the repairs were completed right away at absolutely no cost to the recipient.
